Valley View Baptist Church is involved in community life in the Mid-Ohio Valley. In a variety of ways we seek to fulfill the Great Commission as found in Matthew 28:18-20 as well as meet needs such as those described in Matthew 25:31-46 . VVBC is involved in the community in a number of different settings. Our Deacons Fund disperses approximately $9,000 each year to meet the physical practical needs of people in our Church as well as in the community at large. We have a Member of VVBC on the Board of, and we are monthly contributors to The Caring Connection which dispenses funds to folks in need in the Mid-Ohio Valley. Our involvement is not limited to funding however. We are Gold Star participants in the Ohio Adopt-A-Highway Program, we are an Official Shelter for the Washington County Ohio Red Cross, and our Faith Walk Challenge Course provides free facilities and programming for schools, businesses, and other groups throughout the Valley. Each month we collect food for the Marietta Food Pantry and “The Well” Youth Ministry spends two evenings each month on their site stocking and dispensing food. These annual and regular ministries are bolstered by our commitment to respond to needs as they appear such as our involvement during past floods in Marietta, and our response to other significant events in the area. |
