Missions International

Valley View Baptist Church is firmly committed to living out and fulfilling The Great Commission as found in Matthew 28:18-20 to go into all the world making disciples. On an International level our primary involvement is in Northeast Indiamissions1.

In 2006 VVBC entered into a Partnership with the Garo Baptist Convention for an Evangelistic Outreach to the Songsarek people of the Garo Tribe in the State of Meghalaya in Northeast India. Each year we provide funding for this Ministry and in addition we annually send a Team of members of VVBC to visit and do ministry there. Thousands have come to Christ through the combined efforts of VVBC and the GBC.

Since our initial involvement, we have also become involved with other ministry effortsmissions2 of the Garo Baptist Convention. We have delivered 16 guitars and a keyboard to them in support of their Music Ministry. Laptop computers have been provided to assist in the translation of scripture and hymns into the Garo language. Bicycles have been provided to assist Garo Evangelists in traveling in their assigned remote ministry areas.

missions3Rongkugre Mission School in Challang, Meghalaya has become an important part of our ministry. New brick buildings, mosquito nets, and a water system have all been provided through our Partnership. This school, operated as a Mission by the Garo Baptist Convention, provides education as a way out of poverty for local children. As part of their program the students are also presented with the Gospel.

In Tura, one of the major towns in Meghalaya, the GBC operates the Tura Christian Hospital. We have become involved with the ministry of the Orphanage located at the hospital.

Medications and radiant heaters have been provided for the Orphanage, and we always make a special effort to visitmissions4 the children when we are there.

In addition to us traveling there, in 2007 and 2010 Representatives of the GBC came to VVBC for visits. This has helped to build our Partnership truly into one of brothers and sisters in Christ. Our members at VVBC know members of the GBC by name. Our combined ministry isn’t simply one of sending a check to a far off place and hoping something good is done with it. We are fellow laborers in the field of the Lord.

missions5Although Northeast India is our primary International Ministries focus, we are also involved in other areas. On a regular basis Members of VVBC travel to Nicaragua to work in a medical clinic, and to Haiti to work with a school there.
