“The Well” is our Youth Ministry at Valley View Baptist Church for students in Grade 6-12. Proving weekly programming as well as year-round activities, events, service opportunities, “The Well” is a place to have their lives refreshed through a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Weekly programming for “The Well” includes Sunday School each Sunday morning at 9:30am and a special meeting for “The Well” each Wednesday evening at 6:30pm. They meet on the Lower Level in a room just for “The Well”.

In addition to their weekly experiences, “The Well” operates a full slate of activities through the year, many of which have become annual events for the youth and the entire church.

Each year in January or February our youth and Youth Workers travel to Circle C Ranch near Buffalo, NY to participate in a weekend “Snow Camp”. This weekend of spiritual growth in a spectacular fun setting is a much anticipated trip.

Our Annual VVBC Chili Cookoff for Men has become a fellowship time for our whole church family as we gather to try out the culinary offerings of the men in our church and elect the current “Chili Champ”. This event is sponsored and organized by “The Well”.

Summer camping at the WV Baptist Camp in Cowen, WV, roller skating, whitewater rafting, Faith Walk Challenge Course, Girl’s Night Out, Wet n’ Wild Wednesdays, and golfing all have their place in the Ministry of “The Well”.

Our youth are not simply “takers” of ministry, they are providers of ministry as well. It has become a tradition and annual event for “The Well” Youth Ministry to sponsor our Annual Craft Auction on Thanksgiving Sunday. After our morning Worship Service on that day we gather in our Fellowship Hall to share a meal and participate in the Craft Auction. The proceeds from the auction go to our VVBC Deacons Fund. This Fund is used to meet the practical needs of people in our church and in the community. Since it’s inception, our youth have raised over $11,000 for the Deacons Fund.

The Well is staffed by Volunteer Youth Workers who give their time, talents, energy, and many late nights to helping students grow and become all that Christ wants for them. A playful lot, each of these committed Christian Volunteers have undergone a Background Check and have demonstrated their commitment to Christ, VVBC, and “The Well” Youth Ministry.
