“FAITH WALK CHALLENGE COURSE” is an experiential education facility. It is used to develop such skills and attributes as teamwork, communication, and trust. There are “Low Elements”, those under 10 feet in height, that are for groups or teams. These elements or initiatives provide problem solving and physical challenge situations that require the participation of the whole group. “Active Spotting” is the primary safety system. There are also “High Elements” that provide challenges and opportunities for accomplishment for the individual. The “High Y” of High Elements (Postman’s Walk, Burma Bridge, Pirate’s Crossing and Multivine), ranges from 20 to 38 feet off the ground. The Pamper Pole is 27 feet high and the Trapeze is seven feet away from the pole. The King Swing is top-anchored at over 40 feet. Our Climbing Tower is the flagship of the Course and is the most notable feature. The poles rise 52 feet out of the ground and the top of the climbing surface is at 43 feet. The Zip Line launch platform is at 39 feet. The Tower features three sides, each with different characteristics. The side facing the woods is what we call the “easy” side. It is a straight climb to the top. The “hard” side includes an overhang and a layback. The third side is used for rappelling, and is the side from which the Zip line launches. Our Zip Line is 300 feet long with the termination point being a 45 foot telephone pole. A gravity brake is used.
Participants of a variety of ages have experienced Faith Walk. Our minimum age is 8 years old, but we have no maximum age. Folks in their 80’s have climbed our Tower, ridden our Zip Line, and flown on the King Swing. Types of groups that take advantage of Faith Walk Challenge Course range from In addition to our standard Challenge Course Program, Faith Walk also provides a 10 week Juvenile Diversionary Program for the local juvenile detention facility. This program, The Walkabout Way, was developed through a grant from the Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable Fund.

Faith Walk Challenge Course is a full-blown Low and High Ropes Course owned and operated by Valley View Baptist Church and located on the church campus. Originally constructed in 2003 Faith Walk is quite possibly the only “free” Challenge Course in the world. Built as a connection point and gift to the community, we offer our facility and program to any and all groups FREE of charge.
Participants on the High Elements, Climbing Tower, and Zip Line are required to wear harnesses and helmets. Participants will be on a static or dynamic belay at all times.

Each year for the last several years the incoming freshmen class of the McDonough Leadership School of Marietta College has spent their first day of Orientation at Faith Walk.
